Atlantic City, NJ gets a sizeable amount of snow and ice each winter, so it helps to have a car that handles safely on slick streets. All Subaru vehicles except for the Subaru BRZ come standard with Symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) for stronger traction on wet, icy, or snow-covered roads. It also allows the tires to grip better on sandy or gravelly surfaces. At Ciocca Subaru of Pleasantville, we have a massive selection of all-wheel-drive vehicles in our new inventory, and we'll be glad to help you choose the one that suits you best.
What Is Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive?
Subaru's all-wheel-drive system is called Symmetrical all-wheel drive because the entire drive system is mounted in a straight, symmetrical line. This enables it to move torque to the wheels that have grip, and away from the ones that are starting to slip.
Symmetrical all-wheel drive can detect a slipping wheel in less than one revolution of that wheel. When your Subaru detects slippage of a wheel, it pulls power away from that wheel, and redirects it to the wheels that still have traction. Since Symmetrical all-wheel drive not only moves power from the front axle to the rear axle, but can also move power from left to right, Egg Harbor Township drivers can keep moving with traction from only a single wheel.
Subaru SUVs and Crossovers with Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive
Subaru Ascent

Subaru Outback
The new Subaru Outback is a wagon-like crossover that's almost five inches shorter than the Ascent. Standard Symmetrical all-wheel drive gives the Outback solid traction on slick roads in Ocean City. Outback Wilderness trims have lifted suspensions, all-terrain tires, and front skid plates for exceptional off-road capability.
Take a seat in the new Subaru Outback and you'll have ample space to stretch out. Base models have cloth upholstery, but Nappa leather seats are available. The Outback also has more than 75 cubic feet of space to stow your camping gear or luggage with its rear seats folded down.
Subaru Solterra
The new Subaru Solterra is the first fully electric vehicle to feature standard Symmetrical all-wheel drive. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and X-Mode traction settings for dirt, mud, and snow, the Solterra can traverse off-road trails with ease. The Solterra is also practical for everyday driving, with a well-tuned suspension that soaks up bumps in the road for a pliant ride on paved streets. When properly equipped, it can go 227 miles on a single charge.
Inside, the Subaru Solterra has a contemporary, minimalist cabin with a wide, gloss-black center console, a textured dash, and a squared-off steering wheel. Subaru Forester
The new Subaru Forester is a compact SUV that's spacious and fuel efficient. Standard Symmetrical all-wheel drive allows it to muscle through snow-packed roads in Linwood. Forester Wilderness trims have an enhanced dual-function X-Mode feature and 9.2 inches of ground clearance that lets them go almost anywhere.
