Subaru WRX What's New for 2022
Adrenaline-fueled thrills have been amped up for the latest edition of the Subaru WRX sports car. This revamped sports sedan is loaded with raw power and features upgraded handling. A new direct-injection Subaru BOXER engine and a retuned suspension are welcoming changes to the 2022 Subaru WRX.
A brand-new GT trim, featuring electronically adjustable dampers, enters the picture as well. The new Subaru WRX now showcases a redesigned exterior that's been re-sculpted with clean and athletic lines along with flared fenders, a honeycomb front grille, and sharp LED headlights.
Subaru WRX Power & Performance
Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is a hallmark of Subaru models, which is why it's included on the Subaru WRX. This Subaru sports car touts an upgraded track-tuned suspension to provide Atlantic City drivers with razor-sharp handling for better cornering, steering, stability and balance up and down the Jersey Shore.
There's a new version of the WRX's 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine, which now outputs 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. An electronic wastegate offers near-instant boost response.
A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but some Atlantic City drivers may be interested in the all-new Subaru performance transmission with paddle shifters. This combines fingertip paddle shifting and an 8-speed manual mode with automatic downshift blipping control. Upshifting along the Jersey Shore and around Atlantic City is now 30 percent faster and downshifting is 50 percent faster.
Subaru WRX Technology
Stay connected behind the wheel of the 2022 Subaru WRX with Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration is standard. An 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and navigation are available. Jam out around Atlantic City with the Subaru WRX's available Harman Kardon® premium audio system, seen on GT models with a high-performance X-channel and a 440-watt class-D amplifier.
